Jiangsu Yueda Kia to Recall 165 Imported Kia EV6 Cars Due to Software Problem

TapTechNews July 12th news, TapTechNews learned from the State Administration for Market Regulation that recently, Jiangsu Yueda Kia Motors Co., Ltd., in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products and the Implementation Measures of the Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products, filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation. It was decided to recall some imported Kia pure electric EV6 cars produced from June 8, 2023 to November 1, 2023, a total of 165 units starting from July 15, 2024.

In the vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to a software problem of the integrated charging control module (ICCU), it may cause damage to its internal components, and the vehicle cannot charge the 12V battery, resulting in the warning light being illuminated and the vehicle speed gradually being restricted, and losing power after a period of time, presenting a safety hazard.

Jiangsu Yueda Kia Co., Ltd. will conduct free inspections and update the ICCU software for the vehicles within the recall range. If the vehicle has relevant fault codes, a new ICCU and fuse will be replaced free of charge to eliminate safety hazards.
