Will AI Replace Humans? Insights from 2024 World AI Conference

TapTechNews July 4th news, according to The Paper, at today's 2024 World Artificial Intelligence Conference and the industrial development main forum of the High-level Conference on Global Governance of Artificial Intelligence, Yang Jie, the chairman of China Mobile, expressed his views on whether artificial intelligence will replace humans.

Yang Jie said: Whether AI is a helper or an opponent of humans, an opportunity or a threat, has become a common topic of the whole society. Personally, I think AI will not replace human intelligence, but will reconstruct many industries and fields, and those who are good at using AI will replace those who don't use AI.

Robin Li, the founder, chairman and CEO of Baidu, also put forward a similar view. Many people worry that AI will take away human job opportunities, which is not without reason. But AI plays more of a role of 'co-pilot', and still needs human checks behind. AI is only assisting humans work, not replacing humans.

It is known that this year's World Artificial Intelligence Conference will exhibit humanoid robots, virtual-real integration, self-driving, unmanned aerial vehicles, brain-computer interface and other AI cutting-edge technologies. Just in the field of embodied intelligence, 45 intelligent robots will be exhibited at the conference site, including 25 humanoid robots. TapTechNews will continue to follow up the latest information of this conference.
