New PCIe Gen5 M.2 SSDs Unveiled at Computex Taipei 2024

TapTechNews June 5th news, comprehensive foreign media TechPowerUp and CowcotLand reported that domestic storage brands Lexar and Biwin both brought new PCIe Gen5 M.2 solid-state drives at Computex Taipei 2024.

In addition to the NM1090Pro previously reported by TapTechNews, Lexar also brought the NM990 this time.

Both of these M.2 2280 solid-state drives support a sequential read rate of 14 GB/s and a sequential write rate of 12 GB/s, with optional capacities from 1 TB to 4 TB, and are expected to be released in the fourth quarter of this year.

Lexar said that the NM990 has excellent power consumption control and does not require an external heat sink. At the same time, it adopts a single-sided PCB design and is compatible with more installation environments.

Lexar also demonstrated on-site the跑分 (benchmark result) of the 2TB version of the NM1090Pro in the CrystalDiskMark benchmark test: the sequential Q8T1 read and write can reach more than 14000+ MB/s and 12900+ MB/s, respectively.
