Google Adds AI Button to Chromebook, Starts with GalaxyChromebookPlus

TapTechNews October 2nd news, after Microsoft launched an AI-specific button for Windows11 devices, Google is currently also adding an AI function-exclusive physical button for Chromebook devices.

According to TapTechNews' early morning report today, Google and Samsung launched a GalaxyChromebookPlus notebook last night. One of the highlights of this notebook is that the keyboard has a brand new QuickInsert physical button, claiming to be the first Chromebook model with AI functions.

TapTechNews noticed that the QuickInsert key is located below the Tab key of this notebook and shares a key with the CapsLock case lock. Google claims that this key can provide immediate help functions for all users.

According to Google's press release, Google designed the QuickInsert button as a menu button that can call out multiple AI functions. Users can select the article writing assistance function Helpmewrite based on the Gemini model in the menu to write content, or conduct various advanced searches (such as quickly inserting emoji through user description/searching for specific audio-visual content), and can also quickly locate and view their historical web page browsing records.

Google said that the GalaxyChromebookPlus they launched in cooperation with Samsung will be the first step for the Chromebook series to introduce AI functions. Starting from next year, more Chromebooks will be equipped with this physical button.
