AMD to Release X870E and X870 Series AM5 Motherboards in September

TapTechNews June 29 - Tech media WccFtech released a blog post, exposing that AMD will release the X870E and X870 series AM5 motherboards on September 30, with the highlight being its brand new design and support for new I/O ports such as USB4.

In June of TapTechNews, AMD launched the first batch of Ryzen 9000 series desktop processors at the 2024 Computex Taipei, and also released the X870 and X870E chip sets, and promised to update the AM5 socket at least until 2027.

The new X870 and X870E chip sets are compatible with the existing Ryzen 7000 and 8000 series processors. AMD promises to support USB4.0 on all X870 and X870E motherboards, as well as PCIe5.0 GPUs and NVMe.

The new chip sets also support the faster AMDEXPO (DDR5 memory overclocking profile), with a maximum speed of up to 8000 MT/s. The main difference between the X870E and X870 is that the former has two chip sets and more interfaces.
