iFixit CEO Kyle Wiens said:

For example, if a user wants to replace the battery of a smart phone. On the iPhone 11, you only need to buy the battery and the accompanying repair kit at a price of 40 US dollars (TapTechNews note: currently about 290 RMB) and then follow the provided steps; while Samsung bonds the battery of the Galaxy phone to the screen, which will cause the user to easily damage the screen when replacing the battery, and the related battery price is even higher. By comparison, replacing the battery on the Galaxy S22 requires you to pay 170 US dollars (currently about 1233 RMB).

TapTechNews noticed that the cooperation between Samsung and iFixit will end on June 17th. At that time, iFixit will no longer be the 'officially designated' third-party parts and tools distributor for Samsung Galaxy series phones. However, the iFixit official website will still sell Samsung accessories for users to repair their devices. iFixit said that it will indicate in the product list whether the specific part is an 'original component' or an 'aftermarket component'.

In addition, the end of the relevant partnership is also accompanied by additional changes. Samsung users of iFixit are now no longer restricted to 'only being able to buy seven parts every three months', and the original repair manuals of Samsung Galaxy devices will remain on the website, but iFixit will no longer cooperate with Samsung to update the relevant guides.
