RT-BE86U continues the classic vertical design of ASUS' 86U family and is equipped with three external antennas, with a smaller footprint.

In terms of specifications, this wireless router is equipped with a 16nm process Broadcom quad-core 2.6GHz CPU and 2GB DDR4 memory, supporting Wi-Fi 7 dual-band 6800M.

For interfaces, RT-BE86U has one 10G wired network port and four 2.5 network ports, and is equipped with two Type-A interfaces including one USB3.0 (TapTechNews note: the other USB port is expected to be USB2.0).

ASUS officially stated that the RT-BE86U gaming router is expected to be launched in early September.

For reference, the initial price of the higher-spec RT-BE88U is $1999, while the initial prices of the previous generation RT-AX86U/RT-AX86U Pro are both $1599.
