TapTechNews reported on May 15th that Panasonic has officially announced that it will release a new product on May 22nd at 22:00. According to TapTechNews' previous reports, this new product is expected to be the Lumix S9 full-frame mirrorless camera, which will feature a unique LUT function (filter button).

According to the latest news from L-Rumors, Panasonic will also release an 18-40mm lightweight zoom lens, but it is currently only confirmed to be a compact full-frame autofocus lens, and the aperture and other parameters are not clear.

Previous reports stated that the Panasonic Lumix S9 will be very affordable, being about $200~$300 cheaper than the S5M2 (approximately $1444~$2166 in Chinese Yuan) in order to attract young people and users with a limited budget. For reference, the price of the S5M2 in China is around 11,000 Yuan, so this S9 camera is expected to take on cameras like the Fuji X-E4/X-PRO3.

According to TapTechNews, the currently known parameters of the Lumix S9 full-frame mirrorless camera are as follows:

Model S9 with dedicated LUT button for easy switching of different LUT effects (similar to Fuji's film simulation switching?)

In addition to official LUTs, it also supports custom LUTs

L-mount (not the previously rumored fixed lens)

24 million pixel sensor, the same as the S5II

Supports in-body image stabilization (IBIS)

No electronic viewfinder (EVF)

Has a flip screen

Designed specifically for video creators with functions that other cameras do not have

Similar in appearance to Panasonic's GM1

Available in 4 body colors to choose from

Very compact, with a body smaller than the Fuji X100VI

Video-oriented, not focusing on photography
