TapTechNews July 26th news, a source - Golden Pig Upgrade Package said yesterday that AMD's Zen5 architecture mobile desktop-level processor FireRange series (TapTechNews note: that is, the mobile version of the Ryzen 9000 Granite Ridge series) will still use the FL1 package.

According to AMD's official website, the package here refers to the CPU platform. AMD's previous-generation similar-positioned product - the Ryzen 7040HX Dragon Range series also uses the FL1 CPU platform.

In other words, similar to their respective desktop counterparts, FireRange and DragonRange are compatible on the CPU platform, without the need to independently develop two motherboards.

This means that the gaming laptop motherboard designed for AMD FireRange processors and Nvidia RTX 50 series mobile graphics cards can directly replace the more moderately priced previous-generation Zen4 architecture Ryzen 7040HX processor, lowering the price of products with the 50 series mobile graphics cards.

On the Intel side, the 14th-generation Core processors used in regular gaming laptops this year are not slot-compatible with the Core Ultra 200 Arrow Lake mobile processors, and two differently designed motherboards are required for pairing with the 50 series graphics cards.

Golden Pig Upgrade Package also mentioned in Weibo that AMD will carry out a certain price increase on the FireRange product line, but the price increase is less than that of the Ryzen AI HX300 product.
