Tesla's Shanghai Energy Storage Super Factory's Construction Update

TapTechNews September 28th news, according to Shangguan News, Tesla disclosed that its Tesla Energy Storage Super Factory located in Lingang, Shanghai is accelerating construction. As of the end of September, the construction progress of the main plant has exceeded 60%, and it is expected to officially go into production in the first quarter of next year.

According to TapTechNews' previous report, the Tesla Shanghai Energy Storage Super Factory officially started construction on May 23 this year. After commissioning, the production of the super-large electrochemical commercial energy storage system Megapack will reach 10,000 units, and the energy storage scale will be nearly 40 gigawatt-hours.

The Tesla Shanghai Energy Storage Super Factory is located in the Lingang New Area of Shanghai, covering an area of about 200,000 square meters. The factory is close to the Tesla Shanghai Super Factory. The Tesla Shanghai Energy Storage Super Factory is another large-scale investment project in China after the Shanghai Super Factory since Tesla entered China ten years ago.
