SoftBank's Vision Fund to Invest 500M USD in OpenAI's New Round

TapTechNews September 30th news, tonight Beijing time, according to The Information citing informed sources, SoftBank's Vision Fund has agreed to invest 500 million US dollars (TapTechNews note: currently about 3.496 billion Chinese yuan) in OpenAI's latest round of financing.

Before the investment, OpenAI's valuation was 150 billion US dollars (currently about 1.05 trillion Chinese yuan), and this transaction is SoftBank's first investment in it. SoftBank joined the lead investor ThriveCapital, whose investment in this round exceeded 1 billion US dollars (currently about 6.992 billion Chinese yuan). It is reported that TigerGlobalManagement and Microsoft also participated in this round of investment, and the UAE's MGX fund and NVIDIA are also in discussions about investment.

Currently, OpenAI is negotiating to raise 6.5 billion US dollars (currently about 45.449 billion Chinese yuan) from investors at a valuation of 150 billion US dollars.
