China's First Cross-Border Smart Port Project in Guangxi Making Progress

TapTechNews August 11th news, according to CCTV News report, the first cross-border smart port in the country - the China-Vietnam Smart Port (Youyiguan - Friendship) project in Pingxiang City, Guangxi has fully entered the stage of large-scale pavement construction, and it is expected to be completed by the end of this year in the Chinese side.

According to the project contractor, the earthwork excavation of the project has been completed completely, and the building construction project has been completed by 60%, and it is expected to be completed entirely by the end of August.

The person in charge of the China-Vietnam Smart Port (Youyiguan - Friendship) project said that this project is based on satellite navigation and 5G technology, using container driverless transport vehicles, automated hoisting equipment, container inspection systems, and intelligent drawing review systems to complete the intelligent command and dispatch platform for the information interaction and docking of China-Vietnam cross-border logistics.

TapTechNews learned that the project will participate in the 21st China-ASEAN Expo in September 2024 to conduct phased functional demonstrations of intelligent systems such as IGV driverless transportation function and platform dispatch.

As of now, the construction of the 24-hour customs clearance system and supporting facilities has been completed by 43%, and the information construction project has been completed by 76%. The Chinese side is expected to be completed and have trial operation conditions by the end of 2024.
