British Chip Giant ARM Builds Global Graphics Processing Team in Israel

TapTechNews on August 16, according to the report of the tech media Globes, the British chip giant ARM has hired about 100 chip and software development engineers in Israel, forming a global graphics processing team at its Ra'anana development center to develop a brand-new graphics processing unit and will compete with Nvidia and Intel.

TapTechNews quoted the media report that at this stage, ARM's global graphics processing team mainly researches graphics processing in the game market, but may enter the field of AI chips in the future.

The business model of ARM is different from that of other chip companies. It neither develops its own processors nor produces them, but develops its own intellectual property or chip development software, and then sells these softwares to chip companies.

The global graphics processing team is also divided into a hardware team, which is mainly responsible for the development of GPU R & D including Immortalis GPU, while the software team is responsible for developing software interfaces for external graphics engine developers, including developing Vulkan and OpenGL for game developers of large companies and start-ups.
