Geely's God Shield Dagger Battery A New Milestone in EV Technology

TapTechNews July 26th news, Geely Automobile announced today that the 20,000th set of the God Shield Dagger Battery has been offline and will be first carried on the Galaxy E5 pure electric SUV that will be launched on August 3rd.

Geely just released its latest self-developed and self-produced blade-type lithium iron phosphate battery - the God Shield Dagger Battery last month. According to the introduction, the length of the God Shield Dagger Battery is 580 millimeters. Through a shorter and more compact size and volume design, it achieves higher safety and further improves the flexibility of the whole package layout.

The energy density of the God Shield Dagger Battery is 192 watt-hours per kilogram, has a 3500-cycle lifespan, and the safe driving mileage exceeds 1 million miles, it can be charged from 10% to 80% in 17 minutes.

The God Shield Dagger Battery has passed the 8-needle simultaneous puncture test of the China Automobile Center: 8 steel needles with a diameter of 5 millimeters are simultaneously punctured and kept stationary for 1 hour, the battery cell does not smoke, catch fire, or explode.

TapTechNews noticed that Geely Galaxy E5 has started pre-sale, and a total of 5 different configurations have been launched, with the pre-sale price ranging from $18,000 to $22,800. The length, width, and height of the car are respectively 4615x1901x1670 millimeters, and the wheelbase is 2750 millimeters.

The new car is equipped with a floating central control screen + LCD instrument + HUD head-up display, and the high-end configuration has a maximum of 16 speakers (with headrest speakers); it is the first to carry the FlymeAuto infotainment system based on the domestic vehicle-grade 7nm vehicle chip - the Longying No.1. The new car provides two battery specifications of 49.52 kWh and 60.22 kWh, and the corresponding cruising ranges are 440 km and 530 km.
