Microsoft Releases Windows 11 Update KB5041869 with Optimizations and Fixes

TapTechNews August 10th news, Microsoft today released the KB5041869 update for the Windows 11 system to Windows Insider program members in the Beta channel, and the version number of the users after installation rises to Build 22635.4010.

Optimizations and Improvements (Gradually invite Beta channel users for testing)

[Taskbar and System Tray]

Microsoft started with the Windows 11 Build 22635.3930 version, launched a more simplified system tray and shortened the date/time change. TapTechNews learned from the report that Microsoft had temporarily disabled this experience due to some problems before, and Microsoft has now fixed these problems and started to re-invite Windows Insider members in the Beta channel for testing.

When users hover the mouse cursor over an application with a JumpList on the taskbar, the JumpList will be displayed, which was launched starting from the Build 22635.4000 version. If users want to close the JumpList, they can go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar in the Taskbar Behavior to set.

Fixed that when users right-click on the application icon on the taskbar and press the Shift key, instead of opening the expected menu, it opens another instance of the application.

Fixed that when pressing the Shift key while right-clicking on the application icon on the taskbar sometimes causes explorer.exe to crash.

Fixed the problem that the top drop-down menu in the GPU part of Performance does not display in dark mode after enabling the dark mode.

Insider users who have updated the Recent, Favorites and Shared sections on the File Explorer home page may encounter the problem of losing keyboard focus when an unselected tab item.

Update of the Paint Application

Microsoft invites Beta and ReleasePreview channel users to test the new version of the Paint application (version 11.2406.36.0 and higher), and this update introduces the following improvements:

Simplified eraser experience: Users can now seamlessly switch from the current tool to the eraser tool by pressing the eraser button or flipping to the back of the stylus for erasing.

Stylus side button support for lasso selection: In the latest update, users can click the side button when hovering the stylus on the screen to quickly select any content on the canvas using the freeform selection tool.
