BYD's Expansion Plans Considering Assembly Plants in Peru and Turkey

TapTechNews July 9th news, Peruvian media andina reported that the country's foreign minister, Javier González-Olaechea, officially visited China and he said that both the Chinese government and enterprises have provided more technological cooperation.

The Peruvian foreign minister said that the scene he saw when visiting the headquarters of Huawei and the BYD auto factory was impressive. He said that the Chinese automaker BYD is considering building an assembly plant in Peru, just like in the other two countries in Latin America (Mexico, Brazil).

According to TapTechNews' previous report, the BYD Brazil production base complex officially started construction in March, and the annual production capacity of the first phase is expected to be 150,000; the general manager of BYD Mexico said in June that the local factory site selection has entered the final negotiation stage and will create about 10,000 jobs.

In addition, yesterday BYD also signed an agreement with the Turkish government to invest and build a factory in Turkey. Turkish President Erdogan attended the signing ceremony. BYD will invest about 1 billion US dollars (TapTechNews note: currently about 7.279 billion yuan) to build a factory and R & D center in the country.
