A fan named 'Fothsid' has released an 'unofficial PC port version' for this game. He shared a real-time gameplay demonstration showing the game running natively on the PC platform with 60 FPS in high-definition textures. TapTechNews learned that Resident Evil: Outbreak File 2 is a'reinterpretation' of the story of Resident Evil: Outbreak. The game is divided into five chapters, mainly describing the process of the protagonist going to the Raccoon City Zoo / subway station / abandoned hospital / Umbrella laboratory, etc.

It is introduced that this game is one of the few Resident Evil games that use the 'rail camera view'. This view can basically be regarded as an upgraded version of the fixed view used by the classic Resident Evil games. Once the game was released, it was criticized a lot because the enemies would respawn and the AI performance of the companions was mediocre.
