Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway Starts Commissioning and Testing, Expected to Shorten Travel Time Significantly
TapTechNews July 6th news, on June 21 this year, the newly-built Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway from Chongqing West to Yibin East Section announced the start of joint commissioning and testing.
According to the first sight report of Chongqing Radio and Television, on July 5th, the Yu-Kun High-Speed Railway Yu-Yi Section carried out a speed-up test of the highest test speed grade, and finally the test train successfully ran out the test target speed value of 385 kilometers per hour.
In the next step, the Yu-Kun High-Speed Railway Yu-Yi Section will be transferred to the stage of speed-up test of double-unit trainset and signal scene test, etc., laying the foundation for the subsequent through-operation test of the whole line.
According to the official introduction, the Yu-Kun High-Speed Railway is one of the important components of the main passage of the national 'Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal' high-speed railway, the京昆 passage. The line starts from Chongqing West Railway Station, passes through Chongqing City, Sichuan Province, Guizhou Province and Yunnan Province, and connects to Kunming South Railway Station. The Chongqing-West to Yibin-East Section of the Yu-Kun High-Speed Railway is located in the territory of Chongqing City and Sichuan Province. The line is led out from Chongqing West Railway Station, passes through Shapingba District, Jiulongpo District, Dadukou District, Jiangjin District, Bishan District, Yongchuan District in Chongqing City, and Luzhou City and Yibin City in Sichuan Province, and arrives at Yibin East Railway Station.
After the whole line of the Yu-Kun High-Speed Railway is opened to traffic, it is expected that the driving time from Chongqing to Kunming will be shortened from the original 5 hours to about 2 hours.
The official pointed out that after the completion and opening of the Yu-Kun High-Speed Railway, it will further improve the national comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network, strengthen the connection between the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Economic Circle and the Central Yunnan Area, greatly reduce the railway travel time from Chongqing to Kunming, greatly improve the travel conditions of the people along the line, and promote the high-quality development of the economy and society along the line.
