Intel Xeon 6766E Emerges in Benchmark Test

TapTechNews May 23rd, a processor named Intel Xeon 6766E has emerged in the Geekbench benchmark test database today.

The topology data of the test sample shows that the tested system is a dual-channel structure with a total of 288 cores.

Combined with the cache data below, it can be judged that the tested platform is equipped with two 144-core SierraForest-SP processors using the LGA4710 socket.

If this test result is true, Xeon 6766E is expected to become the flagship model of the Xeon processor in the SierraForest-SP series.

Interestingly, the tested system is only equipped with approximately 32GB of memory, which clearly fails to fill the total 16 memory channels of the dual-channel SierraForest-SP processor.

Intel announced a brand update for the Xeon processor at the IntelVision2024 conference in April.

The upcoming SierraForest and GraniteRapids processors will belong to the Xeon 6 family, but the naming scheme for the specific models of these processors has not been officially announced yet.

It seems that the model name of the Xeon 6 processor is expected to adopt the format of Xeon 6XXXP or 6XXXE, where 6 represents the generation of the processor, and the P or E at the end indicates whether the processor is based on performance cores or energy-efficient cores.

TapTechNews reported earlier that Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger plans to share how Intel Xeon processors provide excellent watt-performance efficiency in the keynote speech at Computex Taipei 2024.

It is expected to officially release the Xeon 6 energy-efficient core processor with the code name SierraForest at that time.
