TapTechNews reported in October 2023 that Google officially announced plans to produce the Pixel 8 series of smartphones in India, and more production details emerged in February this year.

Google will first prepare the production line for the Pixel 8 Pro in a factory in southern India and plans to start producing this high-end phone in the second quarter of this year, and then will assemble the Pixel 8 model in a factory in northern India in the middle of the year.

Insiders revealed that Google set an ambitious sales target for Pixel phones last year and plans to ship 10 million units in 2024.

In a report in July this year, Google is planning to produce the standard version of Pixel 9 with the help of Indian electronics manufacturer Dixon Technologies; at the same time, the more high-end Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 XL will be produced by Foxconn's Indian factory, and these Pixel phones made in India are planned to be exported to the United States and the European Union.
