TapTechNews June 20th news, last year during CES2023, Samsung Electronics launched its first monitor Odyssey OLED G8 (G85SB) using the QD-OLED panel from Samsung Display, priced at $1,499.99 (TapTechNews note: currently about 10,903 yuan).
Earlier this year, Samsung also launched the 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8 monitor, so many people thought this was the iterative product of the 34-inch Odyssey OLED G8, but it turned out not to be.
The new Samsung 34-inch Odyssey OLED G8 monitor has already been listed on SHI in France, model LS34DG850 (also known as G85SD), with a price indication of 1,068 euros (currently about 8,341 yuan), and the manufacturer's suggested retail price is 1,299 euros (currently about 10,145 yuan).
Unfortunately, SHI did not announce detailed parameters about this monitor. We can only confirm from the title that it will support 3,440 x 1,440 resolution and 175 Hz refresh rate.
Compared to the first-generation QD-OLED panel, the second-generation QD-OLED panel adopts a different pixel structure to improve display quality and uses the ultra-efficient EL technology to further increase brightness and reduce power consumption, and also integrates the IntelliSense AI 2.0 technology, which can effectively weaken the screen burn-in problem.
Compared to the second-generation panel, the third-generation QD-OLED panel introduces the quantum enhancement technology, which can further improve the screen burn-in problem and energy efficiency through an AI algorithm. In addition, the third-generation panel also adopts the micro-droplet inkjet process, which can accommodate more pixels in the same area (so that Samsung can provide 4K resolution in the 32-inch QD-OLED display panel).
Therefore, compared to the 34-inch Odyssey OLED G8 launched in 2023, the 2024 34-inch Odyssey OLED G8 monitor can provide better picture quality, higher brightness, lower power consumption and stronger durability.
