HMD Global Partners with Mattel to Release Barbie-Themed Feature Phone

TapTechNews July 1st news, HMD Global announced at MWC2024 in February this year that it would cooperate with the toy merchant Mattel to launch a clamshell feature phone with the theme of Barbie Doll, and the official has not announced more information since then.

However, now a retailer, multitronic, has quietly revealed some information about this feature phone. The model number of this phone is TA-1681, and the specific name is HMD BARBIE. It supports dual SIM dual standby. The price is 107.9 euros (TapTechNews note: currently about 845 yuan RMB), and it will be on sale on July 8, and it is expected to be shipped after September 8.

In addition to the Barbie theme clamshell feature phone, HMD Global also previously cooperated with a beer brand to launch a Boring Phone. This phone will only be provided in the form of a giveaway, with a total limited production of 5000 units. The phone is equipped with a 2.8-inch QVGA display inside, and a 1.77-inch display outside, and has a 0.3MP pixel camera and a 3.5mm headphone jack, and supports calling and texting via 2G, 3G, and 4G.
