TapTechNews learned that after the transaction is completed, Nissan will obtain 25% of ChargeScape's shares and promote the company's services to its electric vehicle drivers in the United States and Canada.

BMW, Ford, and Honda announced the launch of ChargeScape in September. Its software can wirelessly connect electric vehicles and temporarily reduce demand through smart charging according to the real-time grid situation, and even send energy back to the grid when needed.

By providing a single platform for power companies, automakers, and their customers, ChargeScape simplifies the complexity of electric vehicle integration with the grid.

When connected to ChargeScape's platform, electric vehicle owners can temporarily suspend charging during high-demand periods to obtain financial incentives and be able to sell the energy stored in their vehicle batteries back to the grid.

Nissan said that it has sold more than 650,000 LEAF models in the United States, which is one of the first batch of electric vehicles with the ability to feed power back to the grid. Joining the ChargeScape alliance is of particular significance.
