BYD's Expected Sales and Factory Plans in Mexico

TapTechNews October 9th news, Jorge Vallejo, the general manager of BYD in Mexico, said on October 8 local time that BYD is expected to sell 50,000 electric vehicles in Mexico this year and reach 100,000 in 2025.

Vallejo also disclosed that BYD will announce the location of its first Mexican factory before the end of this year. The first phase of this factory will have the capacity to produce 150,000 electric vehicles annually, and then it will be expanded to 300,000 annually, but Vallejo did not provide more details.

TapTechNews noted that BYD is also seeking to extend the tariff exemption policy for electric vehicle imports in Mexico. The company started selling imported electric vehicles in the Mexican market last year.
