Yang Yuanqing to Serve as School Director of USTC

TapTechNews September 20th news, Yang Yuanqing, the chairman and CEO of Lenovo Group and an alumnus of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Science and Technology of China, announced that he will serve as a school director of the University of Science and Technology of China. The president Bao Xinhe presented him with an appointment letter on behalf of the school.

According to public information, Yang Yuanqing was born in Hefei, Anhui in 1964 and obtained a master's degree from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Science and Technology of China in 1989. He joined Lenovo Group in the same year.

Referring to the previous report of TapTechNews, on December 20, 2023, Yang Yuanqing donated 200 million yuan in his personal name to the University of Science and Technology of China to support the construction of the building of the School of Juvenile Class of the University of Science and Technology of China, and to boost the basic scientific research innovation and talent cultivation of his alma mater. This is the largest personal donation by an alumnus in the history of the University of Science and Technology of China.
