Raspberry Pi Plans IPO on London Stock Exchange

TapTechNews May 16th news, Raspberry Pi company submitted its listing documents to the London Stock Exchange yesterday, planning to conduct an IPO on the main board market of the exchange.

Prior to this, the British newspaper The Sunday Times reported that Raspberry Pi company is expected to officially list in mid-May with a valuation of up to 500 million pounds (approximately 45.6 billion yuan).

The listing documents disclosed that since 2012, Raspberry Pi company has sold over 60 million pieces of Raspberry Pi single-board computers and compute modules. Last year, the company achieved a sales volume of 7.4 million pieces.

Currently, the industrial and embedded applications have surpassed enthusiasts and education fields, becoming the largest market for Raspberry Pi: 72% of Raspberry Pi company's unit sales in 2023 come from the industrial and embedded parts, while enthusiasts and education parts only account for 28%.

Raspberry Pi company stated in the documents that this is mainly because community enthusiasts (especially engineers) have brought Raspberry Pi into their work.

In 2023, Raspberry Pi company achieved a sales revenue of 265.8 million US dollars (approximately 1.919 billion yuan), a gross profit of 65.955 million US dollars (approximately 476 million yuan), and a comprehensive post-tax income of 31.572 million US dollars (approximately 2.28 billion yuan) for the whole year.

The company has distributed approximately 50 million US dollars in dividends to its parent company, the Raspberry Pi Foundation, to support the foundation's computer technology education and charitable activities.
