Samsung to Release OneUI6 Watch Update Soon

TapTechNews May 25th news, the Korean website of Samsung has listed the OneUI6 Watch beta version (via @theordysm), hinting that Samsung is about to release this version update.

Samsung internally initiated the development of the OneUI6 Watch update at the beginning of this month, which is estimated to be based on Google WearOS5, and relevant testing activities may be launched in the coming weeks.

Samsung released the OneUI5 watch beta version update based on WearOS5 in the first week of June 2023. Therefore, based on its past records, the media expects that Samsung will release the OneUI6 Watch beta version update to eligible GalaxyWatch in the first week of June 2024.

TapTechNews quoted the media report that the Samsung OneUI6 Watch is estimated to be based on WearOS5, and WearOS5 is in turn based on the Android 14 system. The new WearOS5 has optimized the doze mode and further improved the battery life. According to Google, the battery life of smartwatches equipped with WearOS5 can be extended by 20% when running a marathon.
