China Successfully launched Pakistani Multi-Mission Communication Satellite

TapTechNews May 30th news, TapTechNews learned from the official WeChat public account of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation that at 20:12 on May 30th, the Long March-3B carrier rocket took off from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center with ignition and successfully sent the Pakistani Multi-Mission Communication Satellite into the intended orbit, and the launch mission was a complete success.

The Pakistani Multi-Mission Communication Satellite was led by the Fifth Research Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation Limited and adopted the Dongfanghong-4 enhanced communication satellite platform. The satellite has a service life of 15 years and will be fixed at 38.2 degrees east longitude of the geosynchronous orbit and tropical latitude and can cover Pakistan's territory and surrounding areas. After being in orbit, the satellite will provide various services such as television, radio, regional enhanced communication, high-throughput broadband, and satellite-based enhanced navigation for users in the region.

The Long March-3B carrier rocket is led by the First Research Institute of the Aerospace Science and Technology Group. As the rocket with the largest carrying capacity among the Long March-3A family of carrier rockets, it can send 5.55 tons of payload into the geosynchronous transfer orbit and is one of the main rockets selected for international commercial launch tasks.

The Pakistani Multi-Mission Communication Satellite project is the 14th in-orbit delivery contract for communication satellites signed by the Great Wall Company affiliated to the Aerospace Science and Technology Group with international users. It is also the second communication satellite delivered to the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission after the delivery of the Pakistani Communication Satellite 1R in 2011.

This launch is the 524th launch of the Long March family of carrier rockets.
