Apple's iOS 18 to Feature Multiple AI-Driven Functions

TapTechNews May 30 - Apple plans to introduce multiple AI-driven functions in the upcoming iOS 18, including intelligent message reply and photo generative retouching tools.

TapTechNews has noticed that the latest report from AppleInsider reveals some highly anticipated AI function details in iOS 18. Among them, the major upgrade that Siri will迎来 includes:

Increased responsiveness: The brand-new intelligent reply framework will significantly improve Siri's response generation ability, which can take into account information such as contacts, companies, schedule activities, locations, dates, etc. to make the reply more accurate and appropriate.

More natural voice: The improved text-to-speech function will make Siri's voice sound more natural.

Cross-device media control: Users can control the media playback of another device through Siri on one device, such as controlling Apple TV through Apple Watch. However, it is reported that this function will be launched later in 2024.

Message summary: Users can quickly get an overview of recent notifications through Siri.

In addition to the upgrade of Siri, iOS 18 will also introduce a series of AI-driven functions for its own apps:

Intelligent reply for Messages/Emails: The system will automatically generate text suggestions to help users quickly reply to messages and emails.

Transcription and summary functions in Notes App: The brand-new AI tools allow users to edit audio, conduct voice transcription and text summary in the Notes App.

Math note: New support for math symbols and integration with the calculator App. Math notes can recognize math equations and provide solutions and generate charts.

Keyboard math prediction: When inputting, the system can recognize complex math expressions and provide autocomplete suggestions, similar to the word association function in the input method.

Photo 'cleaning' function: Use generative AI technology to remove unnecessary objects from photos. This function will replace the current'retouching' tool.

Generative creation space: This is an application to create and edit images using generative AI. Currently, it is only for internal testing by Apple, but it implies that in the future, users may be allowed to generate images and share them through iMessage. This may be related to the previously rumored user-generated emoji function.

Apple will showcase these new AI functions in the keynote speech of the WWDC conference on June 11.
