GPD Launches Dual-Screen OLED Notebook with AMD Processors

TapTechNews September 21, GPD launched a dual-screen OLED notebook the day before yesterday, with optional AMD Ryzen AI9 HX370 processor and Ryzen 7 8840U processor, and the pre-sale price starts from 7999 yuan.

A GPD employee talked about the OEM pricing of AMD Ryzen AI9 HX370 processor on Discord. Although he didn't give a specific number, he said that the price of this processor is equivalent to twice that of Ryzen 7 8840U, which also explains why the price of HX370 new machines is generally more expensive.

TapTechNews note: AMD Ryzen AI9 HX370 is based on the new Zen5 architecture, 4nm process technology, 12-core 24-thread, the boost frequency is 5.1 GHz, and the overall computing power is 80 TOPS.

In the Cinebench2024 test, the single-core performance of Ryzen AI9 HX370 is basically the same as that of the desktop version AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, and the multi-core performance exceeds the desktop version AMD Ryzen 9 5950X.

In terms of total computing power, Ryzen AI9 HX370 surpasses the previous-generation mobile version standard voltage U AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS and Intel Core Ultra 9 185H.

This processor is equipped with AMD Radeon 890M core display based on RDNA3.5 architecture, with 16 CUs integrating 1024 stream processors. The specification is increased by 33% compared to the previous generation, and the game performance is increased by 36%. Combined with LPDDR5x 7500 MT/s memory, the video memory bandwidth is also synchronously improved. The 3DMark-TimeSpy graphics card score of its GPU exceeds that of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 (mobile version) and is close to RTX 3050 (mobile version).

In addition, the XDNA 2 architecture NPU of this processor improves the computing efficiency and reduces the overall power consumption. The NPU computing power of 50 TOPS is 5 TOPS higher than that of Qualcomm Snapdragon XElite and 12 TOPS higher than that of Apple M4 (10-CPU).
