It is reported that the first vehicle flying along this route that morning was the EHang VT24L logistics drone, which carried the day's newspapers and traveled 23 miles, and it could reach Guishan Island in 25 minutes, saving 80% of time compared to the traditional freight mode. Subsequently, the drone carried fresh seafood and island cultural and creative products and other goods back to Tangjia Port Wharf.

The opening of this route will not only create the first in the nation drone mail route for islands, but also realize the model scenario of regular direct flight of drone logistics for islands within this year. With the update and iteration of logistics drones, it will gradually expand the demonstration application and continuously promote the coverage of the logistics and distribution business scope to the universal service of Zhuhai Post, as well as government services, cultural media (letters, stamp collecting, newspapers and periodicals), e-commerce and island medical supplies and other courier logistics.

The drone manned sightseeing project on Guishan Island is expected to obtain the first batch of OC certifications (aircraft operation certificate) in China and realize trial operation before the end of September.
