Toyota and BMW's Partnership in Fuel Cell Vehicles and Hydrogen Initiatives

Toyota will supply key components such as hydrogen tanks, and BMW will launch mass-produced fuel cell vehicles in a few years.

In addition, the report said that the two companies will also develop hydrogen charging infrastructure in Europe.

TapTechNews noted that Toyota is currently exerting efforts in hydrogen-powered vehicles and plans to sell 200,000 hydrogen-powered vehicles by 2030, with China and Europe as the main target markets. Currently, Toyota has launched the Mirai hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, and the domestic official guide price is 748,000 yuan (about 110,000 US dollars).

While BMW has also challenged internal combustion engine cars that burn hydrogen, but is now turning to hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. BMW believes that converting hydrogen into electricity first is a more feasible plan for the hydrogenation of automobiles, and the two sides have some similarities in technical choices.

It is worth mentioning that Haima Automobile has bet on the development of hydrogen fuel vehicles in recent years and signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Toyota Motor in March last year to carry out strategic cooperation in the field of hydrogen fuel cell vehicle research and development and industrialization.
