China Automotive Engineering Research Institute and China Quality Certification Center Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement

The two sides have a foundation of many years of friendly exchanges and cooperation.

The signing of this strategic cooperation agreement will, based on the principle of complementary advantages, emphasizing practical results, mutual improvement, and achieving a win-win situation, promote resource integration, establish a comprehensive partnership, and carry out in-depth cooperation in the fields related to automotive product certification, evaluation, inspection and testing, standards and technical regulations.

TapTechNews found out through inquiry that China Automotive Research Institute was originally established in March 1965, formerly known as Chongqing Heavy-duty Automobile Research Institute, which is a first-class scientific research institute in the country. In 2001, it was renamed Chongqing Automobile Research Institute and simultaneously transformed into a technology-based enterprise. In 2003, it was placed under the management of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. In 2006, it was jointly reorganized with China General Technology (Group) Holding Co., Ltd. and became its wholly-owned subsidiary. In 2007, it was renamed China Automotive Engineering Research Institute and was wholly restructured into a limited liability company. In November 2010, it was wholly transformed and established as China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd. On June 11, 2012, China Automotive Research Institute was officially listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. In January 2023, it was officially reorganized and merged into China Inspection and Certification (Group) Co., Ltd. through the professional integration of central enterprises.

In January this year, under the guidance of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China Automotive Research Institute jointly initiated the research project of intelligent new energy vehicle complex extreme environment evaluation standards with 15 units, aiming to solve the technical problems faced by the automotive industry, establish evaluation standards, provide technical guidance for enterprise development, and provide standard support for the healthy development of China's automotive industry.
