TapTechNews on June 28th, according to Xinhua News Agency, the National Space Administration held a handover ceremony of the Chang'e-6 mission's lunar sample in Beijing today. The National Space Administration handed over the Chang'e-6 sample container to the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the sample certificate was also handed over.

After preliminary calculation, the Chang'e-6 mission collected 1935.3 grams of lunar sample. After the sample was safely transported to the Lunar Sample Laboratory, the researchers of the ground application system will carry out the storage and processing of the lunar sample as planned and start the scientific research work. This indicates that the Chang'e-6 mission has officially entered the new stage of scientific research from the engineering implementation stage.

It is worth noting that this is the world's first sample from the back of the moon.

According to this report by TapTechNews, on June 25th, the Chang'e-6 return capsule accurately landed in the predetermined area in Siziwang Banner, Inner Mongolia. At 7:30 PM, the Chang'e-6 return capsule was transported by road to Zhurihe Airport.

The Chang'e-6 probe was launched from the Wenchang Space Launch Site on May 3rd and entered the Earth-Moon transfer orbit. The entire process from the rocket launch to the Chang'e-6 retrieving the sample from the back of the moon and returning to the ground lasted for 53 days and covered a distance of about 470,000 miles (760,000 kilometers).
