TapTechNews May 24th news, the tech media AppleInsider today released a blog post, exposing that Apple plans to readjust the System Settings (SystemSetting) in the macOS 15 system, and the adjustment amplitude exceeds that of the past.

In macOS Ventura, Apple renamed the System Preferences application to System Settings, adopting a similar design to the Settings application on the iPhone and iPad.

Position Adjustment

Based on users' feedback and relevant data on user usage, Apple adjusts the positions of relevant options. TapTechNews briefly introduces the adjustment situation as follows:

The Notifications and Sounds categories will move down.

The General Settings will move up under the Network Settings.

The existing wallpaper and display sections no longer have a dedicated section and are placed together with General Settings, Accessibility Settings, etc.

Privacy and Security will be placed together with TouchID and Password and other related settings.

Siri and Spotlight will be placed together with Internet Accounts and Game Center.

Redesign Icon

Apple also plans to redesign the Siri menu bar icon, replacing the current colorful icon with a black and white flat icon.

In addition, the news said that Apple also plans to adjust the calculator (more similar to the iOS design) and Safari (unified menu for page control).

Other rumored macOS 15 changes include a printable account recovery summary option, a new iCloud preference pane, and a modernized user interface for AirDrop.

Release Date

Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference keynote will be held on Monday, June 10th, when Apple will release macOS 15, iOS 18, tvOS 18, visionOS 2, and watchOS 11.
