Google's AI Function Made a Funny Mistake

TapTechNews May 20th news, Google has been committed to using artificial intelligence to revolutionize the search engine field, but the new function made a joke before its official release: it suggested that users drink a large amount of 'light-colored' urine as a way to quickly discharge kidney stones.

This artificial intelligence function called 'Search Generative Experience' (SGE) has given this advice during the testing stage, and now it has been renamed 'AI Overview' and has been launched first in the United States, and plans to successively land in other regions, but still had the above advice a week before the launch.

TapTechNews noticed that unlike the previous search result summaries, 'AI Overview' will not just show the links of websites, but will try to use artificial intelligence to summarize information and present answers directly to users. However, due to the current immature artificial intelligence technology, 'AI Overview' is more prone to making mistakes compared to traditional search result summaries, and may take completely incorrect information as facts and present it confidently to users.

Although after the adjustment in the testing stage, the frequency of 'AI Overview' appearing now has decreased, and it will also quote sources more frequently, and the length is also much shorter than before. But because it still focuses on 'how to do' content, 'AI Overview' still has the problem of confidently imparting incorrect information.

At present, users cannot directly close the 'AI Overview' function. Although Google can be forced to only show web search results and completely skip the summaries generated by artificial intelligence, this method will also block all video and image results.
