According to NotaTesla, Tesla rolled out the FSDSupervised v12.5.1.1 version to more vehicles during the weekend, and it has a wider coverage than the v12.5.1 version rolled out last week. However, both versions are only for vehicles with the latest HW4 computer.

Elon Musk said a few weeks ago that the first batch of rollouts of FSD v12.5 will focus on Model Y vehicles equipped with HW4. Last Monday, he predicted that FSD v12.5 will be pushed to vehicles with HW3 hardware in about 10 days, which means it could start deployment as early as this Thursday.

TapTechNews noticed that Musk previously explained why Tesla needs to postpone the rollout of the highly anticipated FSD v12.5 version to HW3 vehicles. Optimizing the code to run on HW3 requires a lot of software work and also requires separate verification. He said.

In addition, Musk also revealed that the number of parameters in v12.5 is five times that of v12.4, and by making additional optimizations to the code, it can finally run on HW3 vehicles as well.

Besides HW3 vehicles, Cybertruck owners are also waiting for the arrival of the FSD system. Musk said last weekend that it is expected that FSD v12.5 will be pushed to Cybertruck in two to four weeks.

In addition to landing on Cybertruck for the first time, FSD v12.5 will also bring a series of improvements, including merging the highway and urban road software stacks, allowing drivers to wear sunglasses in autopilot mode, and the long-awaited Tesla True Smart Summon function.
