PlayStation London Studio Officially Closed

TapTechNews May 22nd news, Sony Interactive Entertainment's PlayStation London Studio has officially closed.

The first-party studio was established in 2002 and is headquartered in Soho, London, having produced the 'The Getaway' series of games and being responsible for the 'SingStar' series of games.

As part of a more extensive round of layoffs, in February this year, Sony announced plans to close the studio. Sony will lay off 900 people globally, accounting for about 8% of the total number of employees.

The official final announcement from PlayStation London Studio: 'For more than two decades, the London Studio has been the home of some of the most talented and outstanding people in the games industry. As we close the doors and everyone embarks on new adventures, we want to express our sincere gratitude to all the players and colleagues, past and present, who have supported us over the years.
