Ivan Espinosa explained in an interview: Our future interpretation of truly high-performance cars is very likely to be electrified. This is not only because of our brand direction, but also because geographically, regulations are pushing us in this direction.

He said, You can also imagine that some of our important models will have Nismo versions. Making electric sports cars will make it easier for our new cars to enter many restricted markets at present. There are many car enthusiasts in the UK, and bringing sports cars back to the UK is our wish.

Last month, Nissan announced the comeback of its high-performance series model NISMO in Europe in the form of electric vehicles and launched the Nissan Ariya Nismo.

According to previous TapTechNews reports, in March this year, Nissan launched the 2025 GT-R in Japan. The current GT-R R35 model has been in mass production since December 2007, and its development history can be traced back to 2000. Before the release of the mass production model, Nissan also released two concept cars, one debuted at the 2001 Tokyo Motor Show, and the other was the GT-R Proto released at the same show in 2005. And at last year's renamed Japan Mobility Show, Nissan launched the HyperForce concept car, strongly hinting at an upcoming all-electric GT-R.

The HyperForce concept car is driven by four electric motors with a total power of an astonishing 1000 kilowatts, which is more than twice that of the current GT-R Nismo. The car adopts solid-state battery technology, which is a battery solution that Nissan is developing for pickup trucks, off-road vehicles and sports cars. The vehicle is also equipped with the e-4orce four-wheel drive system, which can automatically distribute power according to the road conditions.
