A Recent Electric Bicycle Fire Incident in Quzhou, Zhejiang Battery Modification Leads to Consequences

TapTechNews August 1st news, yesterday the Zhejiang traffic police released a statement that a recent electric bicycle fire incident occurred in Kecheng District, Quzhou, Zhejiang. The vehicle has been completely burned, leaving only the frame. Passers-by and firefighters fought the fire, and there were no casualties on the scene.

The traffic police learned from the driver Ye that the possible cause of this fire might be circuit failure due to battery modification. The vehicle was equipped with a 12Ah battery, which was replaced by a 20.5Ah battery. Due to the increase in battery power, the originally thin wires could not withstand the excessive current, resulting in unstable circuit and short circuit, and finally causing the spontaneous combustion of the vehicle.
