Tesla Model 3 Test Vehicle with Cameras Sparks Speculation Ahead of Robotaxi Release

TapTechNews July 10th news, a Tesla Model 3 test vehicle with multiple suspicious cameras installed appeared in the North California area, less than a month away from the Tesla Autopilot Taxi (Robotaxi) conference, and the discovery of this test vehicle has sparked speculation.

The upcoming Tesla Robotaxi will be built on a new platform and can realize unmanned ride-hailing and operation. This exposed test vehicle seems to be testing the camera positions for the Robotaxi to assess the autopilot performance.

As can be seen from the photos, this test vehicle has three cameras in unique positions. It is notable that this test vehicle is not equipped with traditional rearview mirrors.

It is currently unclear the exact purpose of this test vehicle, but considering the time node of its appearance and the position of the cameras, it seems that Tesla is preparing for the upcoming Robotaxi conference.
