As part of the 2025 model year series information, Hyundai confirmed that this new SUV will make its global debut later this year, but did not disclose too many details about IONIQ 7, and did not even use the name IONIQ 7, but this is almost certainly the final naming of the vehicle. Previously, there were reports that the vehicle would be unveiled in June, but June has passed and IONIQ 7 has not been officially released yet.

As a sister model of Kia EV9, IONIQ 7 is built on the same E-GMP platform and may offer similar motor configuration options. Referring to Kia EV9, there will be three configurations: single-motor rear-wheel drive version with a maximum power of 160 kilowatts / 218 horsepower; dual-motor all-wheel drive version with a maximum power of 283 kilowatts / 385 horsepower; and high-performance version with a maximum power reaching 430 kilowatts / 585 horsepower.

Hyundai may also offer two different battery options. The first has a capacity of 76.1 kWh and a range of approximately 230 miles (about 370 kilometers); the second has a larger capacity of 99.8 kWh and the range will exceed 300 miles (about 483 kilometers).

In the spy photos provided by a Carscoops reader, although the IONIQ 7 prototype is still covered with thick camouflage, its slender horizontal daytime running lights and the front headlights below can still be faintly seen. Due to the blocked D-column, it is impossible to judge whether the gradually rising waistline of the concept car has been retained, but from the previously witnessed spy photos, this waistline should be retained. Unfortunately, the square wheel arch openings of the concept car seem to have been abandoned.

TapTechNews noticed that in addition to IONIQ 7, Hyundai's 2025 model lineup also includes the facelifted IONIQ 5 crossover and Tucson SUV as well as the relatively unpopular Santa Cruz pickup. Both the facelifted Tucson and Santa Cruz have adopted a more sharp front-end styling and a combined digital infotainment and instrument cluster display.
