TapTechNews August 10th news, the market research organization JonPeddieResearch released a report yesterday (August 9th), stating that the global client-side CPU shipments in the second quarter of 2024 increased by 10.7% year-on-year, and the server-side CPU shipments increased by 3.8% year-on-year.
TapTechNews learned from the report that the global PC CPU shipments in the second quarter of 2024 decreased by 5% quarter-on-quarter, and increased by 10.7% year-on-year. Among them, the proportion of notebook CPUs is 76%, and the proportion of desktop CPUs is 24%.
The CPU with iGPU integrated graphics had a 1% quarter-on-quarter decrease in shipments in the second quarter of 2024 and a 14% year-on-year increase.
The report said that the server CPU shipments increased by 3.8% quarter-on-quarter and decreased by 15% year-on-year, among which AMD accounted for 25% of the server CPU market.
