First Batch of Driverless Intelligent Connected Vehicle Enterprises in Shanghai

TapTechNews July 4th news, according to CaiLian Press, at the 2024 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, Xiaoma Yixing Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Baidu Zhixing Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Saike Intelligent Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and others became the first batch of enterprises to obtain the demonstration application license for driverless intelligent connected vehicles in Shanghai.

Among them, Xiaoma Zhixing said, "This means that on the 205 kilometers (about 127.4 miles) route in the Pudong central urban area of Shanghai, passengers can book to ride in a Robotaxi without a driver through the mobile app of the same name 'Xiaoma Zhixing'.

TapTechNews noted that as the first city in China to introduce an autonomous driving test policy, Shanghai has successively opened autonomous driving test roads in demonstration areas such as Jiading and Jinqiao, and is committed to building an intelligent travel service ecosystem.

The demonstration application of driverless intelligent connected vehicles in Shanghai further realizes the interconnection of autonomous driving test roads between Pudong and the Lingang New Area. The route covers the entire area of the Jinqiao Economic and Technological Development Zone, as well as roads such as Shenjiang Road, Hunam Road, and Lianggang Highway in the "North-South Science and Technology Innovation Corridor Passage" in Pudong, passing through multiple subway stations, business districts and industrial parks, fully meeting the daily travel needs of citizens.
