The repairability score of iFixit is scored on a scale of 0-10, and the higher the score, the easier it is to repair. And one interesting thing is that the score of the first-generation Surface Laptop is 0 points, while the score of the all-new Surface Laptop 7th edition has increased to 8 points, indicating that Microsoft has been working hard on repairability in recent years.

iFixit says that disassembling the all-new Surface Laptop 7th edition is very simple. Just unscrew a few screws and remove a magnetic fixed plate.

Users can also find a QR code, and after scanning it, they can jump to the official repair guide and provide information such as screw marks, quantities, and other conveniently placed information. Microsoft calls it 'Wayfinders', and all this information will help users repair the Surface as quickly and easily as possible.

iFixit also praised Microsoft for being able to easily replace most of the internal parts without disassembling the entire device. In the blog post, iFixit takes replacing the fan as an example and compares it with the Surface Laptop 7 and the MSI GS65, where the latter needs to disassemble the motherboard and the entire cooling system to replace the broken fan.
