EVGA's Move Away from Motherboard Market and Reveal of X670E CLSSSIFIED Samples

TapTechNews June 3rd, after the former well-known graphics card manufacturer EVGA gave up its graphics card business, it also gradually faded out of the motherboard market.

Although the official had previously denied the report of 'exiting motherboard manufacturing', EVGA did not launch a new motherboard after the initial stage of the Intel Z790 generation, nor did it officially release the AMD 600-series motherboard that was approximately the same period as the Intel Z790.

However, a netizen named 'Shenzhen Fengyu Electronics' on the Xianyu platform recently shared photos of multiple engineering samples of the EVGA X670E CLSSSIFIED motherboard, allowing us to take a peek at the true appearance of this aborted flagship-level motherboard.

The X670E CLSSSIFIED adopts the classic 'EVGA-style' motherboard structure: the CPU socket is horizontally placed, and the 4 DDR5 memory slots are located at the top of the motherboard above the slot, and the power supply and SATA interface are horizontally placed.

For the specifications, TapTechNews has roughly sorted out as follows:

This motherboard uses a 14-phase SPS Dr.MOS power supply, with a DEBUG light and power on/off, restart buttons in the upper right corner, including 3 PCIe slots and 3 M.2 solid state drive slots.

Specifically, the X670E CLSSSIFIED has a main PCIe Gen 5 x 16 / x 8 slot and a secondary PCIe Gen 5 x 8 slot, both of which are made of alloy reinforcement, and there is also a x 4 PCIe slot in the middle.

In terms of M.2, the X670E CLSSSIFIED provides one PCIe Gen 5 x 4 slot and two PCIe Gen 4 x 4 slots.

In terms of the rear IO panel, this motherboard provides two wired network ports (one is 10 G and the other is 2.5 G), two USB4 40 G interfaces, 10 USB Type-A interfaces, and a SPIDF audio interface.
