Apple's WWDC2024 to Focus on Systems and Softwares, New Blood Pressure Monitoring Function

TapTechNews June 7th, there is no doubt that Apple's WWDC2024 developer conference to be held next week will focus on a series of systems and softwares. For example, iOS18 will introduce a series of new AI functions named 'AppleIntelligence', and this will undoubtedly become the focus of the entire conference.

According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, watchOS11 will also bring a surprising blood pressure monitoring function for users. But it should be noted that this function can only be used after the release of the new AppleWatch.

The Health App is undergoing some upgrades, including improved blood pressure data management - in preparation for the future AppleWatch that supports blood pressure monitoring.

That is to say, Apple plans to introduce the highly anticipated blood pressure monitoring function in the AppleWatch Series 10 to be released this autumn. However, since this function requires the use of a new blood pressure sensor, older AppleWatch users may find it difficult to get an upgrade.

Referring to TapTechNews' previous report, Gurman mentioned this aspect as early as last November, saying that Apple will add two functions of 'blood pressure trend monitoring' and'sleep apnea detection'.

The design purpose of 'blood pressure trend monitoring' is only to notify users whether their blood pressure is on an upward trend and provide users with a log to record to avoid the situation of high blood pressure.

Currently, the Health App in watchOS can already record blood pressure data, but with the new AppleWatch and watchOS11, we will be able to obtain a blood pressure reading directly on the AppleWatch without any other equipment.
