Changan Automobile Unveils Deep Blue S05 Model with New Design Language

TapTechNews reported on May 15 that Changan Automobile has released official images of the recently declared Deep Blue S05 model through the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), featuring a new design language and offering options for all-electric/hybrid versions, with an expected launch in the third quarter of this year.

The exterior of the Deep Blue S05 adopts a new design language: a closed front grille design, protruding double waistline design on the sides, hidden door handles, low drag wheels, and a tail with through-type taillights.

In terms of dimensions, the new car measures 4620/1900/1600mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 2880mm.

In terms of power, the new car will offer two powertrain options: an all-electric version and a hybrid version, with:

The all-electric version will be equipped with an electric motor with a maximum power of 175kW;

The hybrid version will be equipped with a 72kW 1.5L range extender and a 160kW motor, paired with a lithium iron phosphate battery.

TapTechNews previously reported that the Deep Blue S05 model has now been declared by the MIIT, with an internal code name of C857, offering optional features such as different styles of glass roofs, sheet metal roofs, luggage racks, exterior rearview mirrors, roof cameras, window frame trim, rear triangle window trim, and 18-inch and 20-inch wheels.
