In addition to announcing the construction of infrastructure, Google will also cooperate with the Kenyan Ministry of Information, Communications and Digital Economy to strengthen cooperation in areas such as network security, data-driven innovation development, improvement of digital skills and deployment of artificial intelligence for the benefit of society.

Google has not yet specifically stated how long it will take to complete the laying of the 'Umoja' undersea cable.
