Apple Updates Accessory Design Guide for VisionPro

TapTechNews on May 19th reported that Apple has recently quietly updated its official accessory design guide documentation, adding detailed structural diagrams of the VisionPro head-mounted display (HMD) and accessories, allowing third-party manufacturers to make non-MFi-certified (no need to pay an authorization fee to Apple) HMD accessories according to relevant parameters.

It is known that the most important detail in the documentation is the headband buckle mechanism of the VisionPro. This mechanism allows the Apple's original headband to be easily connected to the HMD. Referring to the chart specification information released by Apple, third-party manufacturers can more easily manufacture headbands of the same size and at a low cost.

In addition, Apple has also announced the exact size information of the Zeiss spectacle clip included in the sale when purchasing the VisionPro, which means that third-party manufacturers can make relevant prescription lenses.

However, referring to the previous report of TapTechNews, after users attach the spectacle clip to the VisionPro HMD through a magnetic method, the HMD will pop up a pairing lens interface. Currently, it is not known how third parties skip the relevant verification steps, but at least the secondary factories can now make spectacle clips of the same size and specification.
